Career - Software Support Engineer
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
We are looking for experienced front-end, back-end and full-stack developers and software engineers to develop high-quality testable and scalable applications. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and able to work with several complex issues at the same time (makes the working day interesting). This position will also involve software performance improvement, testing, deployment, as well as development of APIs and integrations.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop QualiWare based solutions, quality software and web application products related to business management (Enterprise Architecture, process management, application, risk, goals and KPIs, quality and compliance management, and auditing)
- Identify business needs and discover potential opportunities for improvement of existing solutions. Analyze and maintain existing software applications
- Translate business needs into both functional and technical solution descriptions
- Create requirements specification, estimate tasks and be able to present this to customers
- Design and develop highly scalable, testable solutions for our customers either independently or with other developers
- Evaluate, test, and ensure the quality of the solutions we deliver
- Discover and fix programming bugs
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a developer/software engineer working mostly in C#, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, but you should also have experience with other languages and technologies such as React, Flutter, Angular, JQuery and web services
- Experience as a tech lead / solution architect is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Knowledge and interest in technical architecture for servers, databases, firewalls, infrastructure, etc. Azure experience nice to have
- Knowledge of agile development methods
- Higher education at university / college level in IT or other relevant subjects (can be replaced with relevant experience)
- Must be eligible for a Government of Canada security clearance

- Willing to learn and open to getting acquainted with new issues
- Ability to present and explain issues to both IT and non-technical system users
- Structured, proactive, motivated, responsible and a team-player
- Strong English oral and written skills. French is nice to have but not required
